Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 27th, 1858. After serving in Cuba during the Spanish-American war and subsequently earning the Congressional Medal of Honor, he became Vice President of the United States under President William McKinley in March of 1901. Six months later, McKinley was assassinated and Roosevelt ascended to the Presidency.
