26th President of the United States.
Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 27th, 1858. After serving in Cuba during the Spanish-American war and subsequently earning the Congressional Medal of Honor, he became Vice President of the United States under President William McKinley in March of 1901. Six months later, McKinley was assassinated and Roosevelt ascended to the Presidency.
Roosevelt is known for his incredibly wide range of interests, his energetic personality, and for being an icon of the Progressive Era of American politics. In 1904, he was reelected President in a landslide victory; fifteen years later, on January 6th, 1919, he died of a coronary thrombosis.
He lived 21,985 days.
